Frequently Asked Questions
Tracking calories in Qwota is easy! You can:
- Search our database of over 1 million foods
- Scan barcodes using the built-in scanner (Pro)
- Scan nutrition labels with AI recognition (Pro)
- Take a photo of your meal for AI analysis (Pro)
- Create custom foods and save favorites
Simply go to the Nutrition tab and tap the + button to start logging.
Qwota uses advanced formulas to calculate your personalized calorie targets:
- BMR (Basal Metabolic Rate): Calculated using Mifflin-St Jeor or Katch-McArdle formula (if body fat % is known)
- Activity Multiplier: Based on your activity level and exercise habits
- 10+ Adjustment Factors: Including sleep quality, stress, dieting history, and more
You can provide additional information in Settings > Calorie Accuracy to improve your calculation accuracy.
Qwota Pro unlocks all premium features including:
- AI Coach (Qwota Trainer) - Personalized insights and recommendations
- Smart Food Scanner - Barcode, nutrition label, and AI photo scanning
- Advanced Workout Programs (nSuns, 5/3/1, PHUL, etc.)

You can subscribe monthly, yearly, or purchase lifetime access.
Apple Health sync is a Pro feature. To enable it:
- Go to Settings > Apple Health
- Tap "Connect to Apple Health"
- Grant the requested permissions
- Choose what data to sync (weight, workouts, steps, etc.)
Once enabled, your data will sync automatically in the background.
Qwota Trainer is your personal AI fitness coach that:
- Analyzes your workout and nutrition patterns
- Provides daily personalized insights
- Suggests workouts based on your goals and history
- Recommends meals that fit your macros
- Sets weekly focus goals to keep you on track
The AI learns from your habits over time to provide increasingly relevant guidance.
Yes! Your privacy is our priority:
- Data is stored locally on your device and synced via iCloud
- Only you can access your data through your Apple ID
- We never sell your data to third parties
- HealthKit data is never used for advertising
- You can delete your account and all data at any time

To cancel your Qwota Pro subscription:
- Open the Settings app on your iPhone
- Tap your name at the top
- Tap "Subscriptions"
- Find and tap "Qwota"
- Tap "Cancel Subscription"
Your Pro access will continue until the end of your current billing period.
If you've previously purchased Qwota Pro or need to restore your subscription:
- Open Qwota
- Go to Settings > Subscription
- Tap "Restore Purchases"
Make sure you're signed in with the same Apple ID you used for the original purchase.
If your data isn't syncing, try these steps:
- Ensure you're signed in with Apple on both devices
- Check that iCloud is enabled in Settings > [Your Name] > iCloud
- Make sure Qwota is enabled under iCloud > Apps Using iCloud
- Connect to Wi-Fi and wait a few minutes
- Force close and reopen the app

Troubleshooting Tips
General Issues
- Make sure you're running the latest version of Qwota from the App Store
- Try force-closing the app and reopening it
- Restart your iPhone if issues persist
- Check your internet connection for features requiring online access
Scanner Not Working
- Ensure camera permissions are granted in Settings > Privacy > Camera
- Clean your camera lens
- Ensure adequate lighting when scanning
- Hold the phone steady and wait for auto-focus
AI Coach Not Responding
- Check your internet connection
- Verify your Pro subscription is active
- Try signing out and back in
- AI features may be temporarily unavailable during maintenance
